Getting Started in a New Place

What a great opportunity. A new place, a new country, even. Carpe Diem, or seize the day.

I’d encourage you to get out and walk and talk to people. Say yes to every opportunity and make opportunities if they aren’t presenting themselves to you.

Join things and discover how much communication you can accomplish without language.

If you go to the same coffee shop or cafe each day, you’ll find people will start to talk to you as a regular. This is a simple way to make a difference.

Try to make the effort to communicate with at least one person every time you go out. Those sorts of things have a way of snowballing and paying off in ways you may not have expected.
